It's Monday, What Are You Reading? (3)

It's Monday! What are You Reading? is a meme run by J. Kaye's Book Blog which discusses which books will be read this week, and the ones that were read last week.

As I've been on holiday, I didn't post last Monday, so over the past two weeks, I have read the following YA novels:

  • Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway
  • Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
  • City of Bones by Cassandra Clare
I read another too, but that was adult - and I have been on holiday, so four books is pretty good, I think. All of these books were awesome, but I especially loved City of Bones. It jumped right up there with my favourites. Can't wait to read the next book in the series!

As for what I'm reading this week, I'll have to update this post when I get home and get some more info. I'm thinking Graceling by Kristin Cashore, but I'm not sure if it's YA or not in the UK. Also The Stepsister Scheme in preparation for Vanessa of Today's Adventure's Fairy Tale Week, yet I don't know if it's YA or adult yet. If neither are YA, I'll look on my shelves for another YA to read. I'll let you know.

Check out my almost identical post on Ink and Paper.

So what are you reading this week?

  4. I believe that The Stepsister Scheme is more of an 'adult' book then YA. I know its shelved in regular fantasy at my local bookstores and on the spine it simply says 'DAW-Fantasy'. (in American at least. Graceling definitely is shelved in YA in America as well (but the UK has different standards of course).
Ah Eyes Like Stars! I love that book so much. I want the second one already.

  5. I have Vampire Academy on my shelf so I hope to get around to that one soon. I've heard good things about City of Books. I'm reading Frostbite by Kelley Armstrong at the moment. Have a great week :)

  6. Elnice - I've not yet read anything by Patricia Briggs, but I hear her books are good. Yup, so far, The Mortal Instruments series is awesome! Thanks for commenting!

Lexie - From what I've heard from several people, it sounds like The Stepsister Scheme is adult. I'll have to ask Vanessa if I can use both blogs.
If Graceling is YA in the US, then I think it's adult in the UK; I was aware it was different in both countries. I'll have to double check, but.
I want Eyes Like Stars, let alone the second!

BCC - Vampire Academy is awesome, I'm sure you'll enjoy it! The Mortal Instruments (City of) series are also amazing - at least the first one is. I so want to read Kelley Armstrong's adult novels, but I haven't been able to find any :(
