Alphabet Reading Challenge

My first reading challenge on Once Upon a Bookcase! I'm taking part in the Alphabet Reading Challenge - click for details - which is hosted on LibraryThing.

I'm going to go by author rather than by title. AS this is a YA blog, all the books will be YA. Please, feel free to give me recs, as I don't know if I will be able to come up with them on my own.

A. The Awakening by Kelley Armstrong
B. Suspicion by Kate Brian
C. Something Like Fate by Susane Colasanti
D. Magic Under Glass by Jaclyn Dolamore
E. Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
F. Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick
G. King of the Screwups by K.L. Going
H. My Love Lies Bleeding by Alyxandra Harvey
J. Need by Carrie Jones
K. Torment by Lauren Kate
L. Purge by Sarah Darer Littman
M. Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead
N. Rich and Mad by William Nicholson
P. Swapped by a Kiss by Luisa Plaja
S. Everwild by Neal Shusterman
V. My Soul to Take by Rachel Vincent
W. Twisting the Truth by Judy Waite
Z. Elsewhere by Gabrielle Zevin

  1. I don't read too many YA books but Anne at Books on the Nightstand discussed The Children's Book by A.S. Byatt in her last blog and that sounded like good book and Scott Westfeld's new book. Leviathan looks good as well (it has a really cool trailer which hooked me immediately)
    Good luck!

  2. Just thinking about the letters that will be harder for you to find authors for... I've had The Secret Rites of Social Butterflies by Lizabeth Zindel on my wish list for a really long time now. If you were to go for that one, I might try to read it at the same time as you! Mind you, there are some other great Z's, like Gabrielle Zevin (Elsewhere is a must-read!)

I'll check back and see which letters you're missing another day! I think "Q" will be tough.

  3. For Z I'm reading The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I'm a bit worried about X, not sure who is going to fill that spot!

Good luck with this one :)

  4. I would recommend

Cave of Terror by Amber Dawn Bell
Any of the Vampire Academy books by Richelle Mead

  5. A few suggestions to get you started...

    YA book suggestions....

    Immortal by Gillian Shields
Once a Witch by Carolyn Maccullough
    Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick
    Secret Society by Tom Dolby
    Uglies by Scott Westerfeld
    The Alchemyst by Michael Scott

  6. It sounds it! I'm looking forward to reading it :)
