First Class Post

Check out Showcase Sunday over on Books, Bisuits and Tea.

Freebie:

The Vagenda by Holly Baxter and Rhiannon Lucy Cosslett - I picked this up from the damaged box at work - though there is so little damage, hurrah! I've had my eye on this for about a week, after seeing it online. It sounds very similar to something I wrote for a piece of coursework at uni, though I focused on teenage magazines. Looking forward to reading it!

Borrowed:

Melvin Burgess, edited by Alison Waller - I spotted this at work, and had to have a read after flicking through and seeing there were some critical essays on sex in Doing It. Doing It has been republished in the past five years, but I reviewed it for the lat Sex in Teen Lit Month, but I thought looking at the essays on it would be ok for SiTL Month II. Looking forward to taking a look.

Inspired by Faye of A Daydreamer's Thoughts's Weekly Recap, here is a recap of my posts over the last week, and anything else I found interesting.

Reviews:

Breakable by Tammara Webber Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi

Two reviews posted this week. Breakable by Tammara Webber is absolutely beautiful, such an incredible story, and I loved it! Thanks to Webber, I'm also running a giveaway to win a copy of Easy and Breakable, so do check it out!

Starting to try and make some headway with SiTL Month II, so I also read Losing It, an anthology edited by Keith Gray. Pretty good, I had a lot to say on the topic. Review written and saved for later.

Also read Into the Still Blue by Veronica Rossi. And enjoyable read, but not really up to par for the final book in a trilogy.

  1. Congrats on a mostly undamaged book! I love when things work out that way - especially when it's a book you really want to read. Happy reading!

  2. I'm still impatiently waiting on Amazon to ship my copy of Breakable. I needs it now! I do love Lucas.
I wasn't to impressed with the Under the Never Sky trilogy. It was alright. Definitely not a favourite.
Hope you enjoy your new reads!
    Happy reading!

    1. Oh, it's so good! I do hope you get it soon, it's great!
I enjoyed the Under the Never Sky series as a whole, but wasn't a favourite of mine, either. Light reads.

      Thank you!
