Stripes Publishing have released the cover for Geekhood: Close Encounter of the Girl Kind by debut author Andy Robb.
Geekhood: Close Encounter of the Girl Kind by Andy Robb (released 4th June 2012) - If you haven't worked it out yet, girls don't do this. They don't come to the Hovel. They don't like goblins and dragons. They don't paint miniatures. They don't play role playing games or re-enact fictional battles. And they don't talk to Geeks like me especially if they're pretty. And this girl is pretty.
What do you do if you're a fourteen-year-old Geek, and a Beautiful Girl has appeared in the midst of your geeky world? And she seems to like you... For Archie, the natural reaction would be to duck and cover ... run for the hills ... buy a new model elf... Anything but risk stepping into the Real World. But even Geeks have to put their heads above the parapet at some point. With his mum barely able to contain her excitement that her son is about to join the human race, and his step-father, Tony the Tosser, offering crass advice, it's time for Archie to embark on a daring Quest to win the Beautiful Girl's heart and shake off his Geekhood for good... I have already read this book (review coming closer to the release date), and it is AMAZING! I love the cover, and I am so, so excited for you all to get your hands on a copy, because you're going to LOVE IT! Just you wait! :D

The heart-stopping sequel to Across the Universe: a story of love, murder and madness - set in space From Amazon UK
I LOVE this cover, but I would have thought they would have kept it to a similar style as the first book, like the US cover. I really like it though.
Next, the original teen dystopin series, the Uglies series by Scott Westerfeld, are being re-released at the end of this month with brand spanking new covers! What do you think?
These are about the third set of covers I've seen for this series in the UK, and I love them! I think they're my favourites! Why the re-release? I assume it's because dystopia is doing so well lately, and the publishers don't want those who've yet to read the series to miss out on them because of the huge amount that are available now. I've still yet to read this series, but they sound SO good!
The title and cover for the third book in Ally Condie's Matched series have been released.
Pretty nifty, huh? Reached will be released in November 2012. Read Entertainment Weekly's reveal article with a Q&A wih Ally Condie, and Ally Condie's post on the cover.
Mark Walden has released the cover for Earthfall, the first in his new series.
What do you think? I really like it!
The UK/AUS cover for A Million Suns is totally awesome! But I do still love the beautiful US ones more... I'm a sucker for pretty colours and starry pictures haha. I love how different they are, they each show a different, yet valid feel to the story.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy Cassia has finally managed to break free from that glass orb thingy on the cover LOL. I have my fingers crossed for Reached. I love Matched, but Crossed... not so much =\
And I have GOT TO READ A SCOTT WESTERFIELD BOOK ALREADY. I hear a lot about his books but I have still yet to pick one up. THIS. MUST. CHANGE.
Thank you for the fantabulous round-up :D
No problem! I do like the UK cover, but I don't think it fits with the previous one. Don't now how it will fit with the story yet, but I'm looking forward to find out.
DeleteI've really liked all the covers for the Matched series, but really didn't like Matched. Haven't continued with the series.
Ha, I'm the same, I've not yet read anything by Scott Westerfeld. But these books sound awesome!
I love the Uglies series and recommend it to everyone but the new covers seem a bit silly. The Hung Games comments a bit petty and I don't understand where the cover for Extras is... are they not re-releasing that one? :|
ReplyDeleteThere are some awesome covers here though and I cant wait to read Geekhood!
I hadn't noticed the The Hunger Games comment before! Oooh, I can understand why they did it, but yeah.. it's like when all paranormal romances jumped on the Twilight band wagon saying they were like Twilight. Not so great. And no idea about the Extras cover, I'm afraid!
DeleteGeekhood is AWESOME! I love it! And they are great covers! :)
