Jess is becoming completely fed up with the male sex, and is beginning to think that the only reliable form of male is e-mail ...Never mind, there's Valentine's Day to look forward to. Fred is sure to make amends then. Isn't he? Full of Sue Limb's very funny take on teenage life and problems, fans of "Girl, 15" will be thrilled to have available a new Fred and Jess story. It's only when you've stopped laughing that you realise that, in addition to writing with wit and warmth, Sue Limb has also dealt effortlessly with bigger and important themes of friendship and loyalty. North of Beautiful by Justina Chen HeadleyNorth of Beautiful by Justina Chen Headley

As he continued to stare, I wanted to point to my cheek and remind him, But you were the one who wanted this, remember? You're the one who asked-and I repeat-Why not fix your face?

It's hard not to notice Terra Cooper.

She's tall, blond, and has an enviable body. But with one turn of her cheek, all people notice is her unmistakably "flawed" face. Terra secretly plans to leave her stifling small town in the Northwest and escape to an East Coast college, but gets pushed off-course by her controlling father. When an unexpected collision puts Terra directly in Jacob's path, the handsome but quirky Goth boy immediately challenges her assumptions about herself and her life, and she is forced in yet another direction. With her carefully laid plans disrupted, will Terra be able to find her true path?

Written in lively, artful prose, award-winning author Justina Chen Headley has woven together a powerful novel about a fractured family, falling in love, travel, and the meaning of true beauty.

  1. That's a lot! I'm in awe of bloggers like you who get so many books in a week and manage to juggle all the reading and reviewing so well - I don't think I could handle more than three or four a week. These look fab though. Really interested to read everyone's reviews for Della Says: OMG! and I love the sound of North of Beautiful. Hope you enjoy! :)

  2. Lol, I have the attitude "I've received these books, I'll read them when I get to them," and try not to stress out about it. ButI do have far too many now. It's time to email publishers and ask for no more.
I can't wait to read Della Says: OMG! It sounds amazing, and I am SO intrigued by North of Beautiful. I'm itching to read it! Thank you!

  3. Jo, First off I love your blog. It's really beautiful; second, you've got some awesome books - happy reading; but, I'm confused. Is Sue Limb's book new this year? I've read Girl 15, Girl (nearly) 16 and Girl, going on 17 and adored them all. We're going back to 15?

I kind of answered my own question when I checked the availability of it online here in the U.S. It's not available here, Girl 15, Flirting for England is the latest import. It's interesting though.

    Have fun reading.
