OMG, it’s the return of the Queen of Teen award!

It’s the sparkliest, most glamorous and certainly the pinkest award in the world of fiction and it is back to capture the imagination of teenage girls across the country once again. The Queen of Teen award was founded in 2008 to celebrate the feistiest, frothiest and most fantastic writers for the tween and teen market. 2010 saw reigning Queen Cathy Cassidy swipe the crown from the very first winner, Louise Rennision. In its first two years the competition has been a huge success, with hundreds of heartfelt nominations from readers and tens of thousands of votes cast for a shortlist.

Queen of Teen is now inviting nominations for this year’s award, which will be presented at a glittering award ceremony in July 2012. Between 27th February and 20th April 2012, readers can nominate any female author for the award, and a shortlist based on these nominations will be announced on 27th April. Fans of each of the shortlisted authors will be invited to the award ceremony – held in the grounds of Queen of Teen HQ in leafy Surrey – where they will be able to mingle with their favourite writers, invited journalists and other special guests.

Last time, it was very gratifying for the shortlisted authors to see how much their books mean to their fans: reigning Queen of Teen Cathy Cassidy said “it's an amazing award because it's all about YOU, the super-cool readers out there. Your votes and views really DO count!”

Go to the Queen of Teen Website to nominate.

  1. Oooh I heard about the Queen of Teen thing in February, I think, from Sarah Alderson who was not so subtly wishing to be nominated hahaha. But it's okay, because she'd totally deserve to win, she rocks! <3

Custom Reads is definitely intriguing, I'll have to check it out!

AHHHHH I NEED THE IMMORTAL RULES ALREADY!! SO. EFFING. EXCITED. TO. READ. IT!
