Well, for those in America. So, you lucky, lucky people across the pond soon get to buy Stacia Kane's fourth book in the Downside Ghosts, series, Sacrificial Magic, as it's being released on 27th March!
Sacrificial Magic by Stacia Kane - Life is going surprisingly well for Chess Putnam. Her bank balance is healthy, she’s pretty sure she can call Terrible her “boyfriend”, and the last few months have been devoid of anyone trying to kill her. So when Chess is ordered by an infamous crime boss – who also happens to be her drug dealer – to use her powers as a witch to solve a grisly murder involving dark magic, she is unsurprised; she knew the recent calm wouldn’t last. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Chess’ ex lover Lex, son of a rival crime lord, is trying to re-ignite the sparks between them.
Plus there’s the little matter of Chess’ real job as a ghost hunter for the Church of Real Truth; investigating reports of a haunting at a school in the heart of Downside. Someone seems to be taking a crash course in summoning the dead—and if Chess doesn’t watch her back, she may soon be joining their ranks.
As Chess is drawn into a shadowy world of twisted secrets and dark violence, it soon becomes clear that she’s not going to emerge from its depths without making the ultimate sacrifice. From Amazon UK
Sounds amazing, right?! Unfortunately for us here in the UK, we have to wait until May. But we can tease ourselves with all the wonderful reviews being posted by our American friends and get all excited!
Yes, the cover above is the UK cover. Similar-ish to the US in that the same model is used. I like it, but I did really like the old UK covers, they were so different! Ah well.
So wonderful Americans, get pre-ordering!
Wow I've never heard of this book. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteNo problem! This is the fourth book though. The first three are Unholy Ghosts, City of Ghosts and Unholy Magic. :)
DeleteWill you kill me if I admit I have never read a Stacia Kane novel?! *winches* BUT! I have heard some great things and the fact that you're a fan clearly solidifies my need to read her books! Plus, that cover looks great. I obviously haven't seen the original versons, but I am really curious to know if the tattoo means anything! Or if it's just something on the main character and shows she's badass haha.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry about it, I've only read the first book in this series, lol. Only one book! Lol. The tattoos are magical, they're a form of protection, and also let everyone know she's a witch :) But these are adult books, I don't know if you read them?
