Review: Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater

Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie StiefvaterBlue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater (Bought) - WARNING! I cannot review this book without spoiling the others in the series. Read no further if you're planning on reading this series and don't want it spoilt for you.

Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The Raven Boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs.

The trick with found things, though, is how easily they can be lost.

Friends can betray.
Mothers can disappear.
Visions can mislead.
Certainties can unravel.

Review: The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater

The Raven Boys by Maggie StiefvaterThe Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater (Bought) - Even if Blue hadn't been told her true love would die if she kissed him, she would stay away from boys. Especially the ones from the local private school. Known as Raven Boys, they only mean trouble.

But this is the year that everything will change for Blue.

This is the year that she will be drawn into the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys. And the year Blue will discover that magic does exist.

Review: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

Shiver by Maggie stiefvaterShiver by Maggie Stiefvater (review copy) - When a local boy is killed by wolves, Grace's small town becomes a place of fear and suspicion. But Grace can't help being fascinated by the pack, and by one yellow-eyed wolf in particular. There's something about him - something almost human. Then she meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away...

Maggie Stiefvater UK Book Tour!

Just thought I'd pass on some info I found about Maggie Stiefvater, author of Lament, Ballad, and Shiver, coming to the UK for some book signings!

This is all her website says:

October 14-19
Various locations
London, Manchester UK

I assume people have to keep an eye open and an ear to the ground to find out exactly where, but I have some info on a London signing from Becky of The Bookette:

Thursday 15th October
Golden Treasury Shop, Wandsworth
4.15 - 5.30

ETA: Becky has some more info about the London signing:

Maggie Stiefvater will be signing books on October 15th at The Golden Treasury Bookstore in Wandsworth. It starts at 4.15 and Maggie will give us a talk about her books before she signs. Anna, Assistant Manager at Golden Treasury thinks there will be a chance to ask Maggie questions after the talk and before the signing.

I can also tell you that if you can't make the London signing, Maggie is also going to be at the Cheltenham Literature Festival on Saturday 17th October when she will be in discussion with Vampirates author Justin Somper. This event starts at 5.15 pm and lasts an hour. Click here to find out more.

I may or may not be going to this signing, I haven't decided yet. But it's awesome news, isn't it?!

If anyone knows of any other dates, times and places, please let me know so I can update this post. It would be good if we all knew.
