First Class Post

For review:

Abyss by Tricia Rayburn - Goodreads / Amazon
The third book in the trilogy! I loved the first book, so I'm excited to now have the next two books to read one after the other!

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - Goodreads / Amazon
EEE! I HAVE THIS BOOK! I AM EXCITED! THAT IS ALL!

The Gathering Dark by Christine Johnson - Goodreads / Amazon
I am really intrigued by this urban fantasy stand alone! Looking forward to giving it a read!

The Tragedy Paper by Elizabeth Laban - Goodreads / Amazon
A 2013 YA debut, this book sounds amazing! I am so intrigued! What happened to Tim?! Oooh!

Curse of Kings by Alex Barclay - Goodreads / Amazon
This is another 2013 YA Debut, and one that will mean me going back to my reading roots. I love high fantasy, but I love the high fantasy I know, and for some reason, I'm a little wary about reading others, even though I have a few now. But it sounds really good!

The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Graham - Folio Society / Amazon
Oh my gosh, this is a BEAUTIFUL (!) book! It's massive, there are gorgeous photos, and oooh! It's just amazing! I hardly want to read it, it's so pretty! No link to Goodreads as I can't seem to find it on there, but a link to it's page on the publisher's website. Eee!

Anthem for Jackson Dawes by Celia Bryce - Goodreads / Amazon
Another 2013 YA Debut! This book sounds awesome! Gosh, this and The Fault in Our Stars in one week? There shall be a lot of tears, methinks!

The Last Minute by Eleanor Updale - Goodreads / Amazon
This book sounds incredible! I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to read it! Eee! :D

Infinite Sky by C.J. Flood - Goodreads / Amazon
I already have a proof of this, but I now have a finished, beautiful hardback copy! Also a 2013 YA Debut.

NetGalley:

The Office of Mercy by Ariel Djanikian - Goodreads / Amazon
Awesome sounding dystopia that sounds like it could be New Adult! I am so excited to read this, it sounds so good!

Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood - Goodreads / Amazon
I've been wanting to read this for quite a while after first hearing about it on another blog! It sounds awesome! Really looking forward to reading it!

Bought:

Haunted By Your Touch Anthology - Goodreads / Amazon
Cape Storm by Rachel Caine - Goodreads / Amazon
Foyles is having a sale. Some books are 50% off, some are 75% off. These two were 75% off! The Rachel Caine is the eighth book in the Weather Warden series, and I've only read the first two, but this one is signed! And the anthology has a story by Jeaniene Frost! One of my favourite authors! So I'm happy that I got both of these books for £3.70 altogether! Bargain!

Teasing Trent by M. Malone - Goodreads / Amazon
One More Day by M. Malone - Goodreads / Amazon
Derailed by Alyssa Rose Ivy - Goodreads / Amazon
A number of New Adult eBooks that were available for free on Amazon! Looking forward to trying them!

Thank you to Faber & Faber, Penguin, Simon and Schuster Children's Books, Penguin US via Net Galley, Penguin UK via NetGalley, HarperCollins Children's Books, The Folio Society, Bloomsbury Children's Books, and RHCP for the review copies.

  2. I'm really curious about The Gathering Dark. Not sure whether I'll read it or not so I'll be waiting to hear what you think! :) Anthem for Jackson Dawes sounds heartbreaking. I think I gave it a miss when I received the catalogue but only because I can rarely handle these types of stories. Too emotionally taxing! But I hope it's as good as it sounds. Maybe I'll woman up one day and check it out. Great books this week! Happy reading!

    1. Thank you! :) The Gathering Dark does sound pretty awesome, I'm looking forward to giving it a go! Oh, I do love a good ol' emotional book! As long as it's sad and not depressing, I can deal with it. And I find death more sad than depressing, strangely. So I'm really looking forward to Anthem for Jackson Dawes, looking forward to a good cry! :)

  3. Ooooh, a New Adult dystopian? *adds it to Goodreads TBR list* I hadn't heard of The Office of Mercy before, thanks for putting it on my radar! Hope you enjoy your books :)

    1. Well, I don't think it's marketed as "New Adult", but the protagonist is 24. And it sounds like it has that discovery aspect that comes with YA. I could be wrong, but from what I've read about it, it seems to have a NA feel. Looking forward to trying it! Thank you! :)

  4. THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. But... where are the tissues, Jo?! Surely the publisher sent you a box of tissues to accompany it?! YOU WILL NEED THEM. Very curious to see what you make of The Gathering Dark, Anthem and Infinite Sky. All three have been on my radar for months. So many delicious new books, you have many happy hours of reading ahead of you, m'dear!! :D

    1. I KNOW! I AM EXCITED! I am sure I will need tissues, but I don't mind that. I love a good cry! :) The Gathering Dark sounds intriguing, Anthem sounds like it'll be just as good as TFIOS, and Infinite Sky just sounds so different! I'm really looking forward to reading them! :)

  7. I can't believe I still haven't read anything by John Green. I really need to change that, and I've heard so much praise for The Fault In Our Stars, it's definitely on my tbr list. I think I saw a couple of other people get The Tragedy Paper recently, or maybe I saw the cover? Either way, I want to read that one. Enjoy your books!
    My book post is here.

    1. The only thing I've read by John Green is Will Grayson, Will Grayson, which he wrote with David Levithan. It was AWESOME! I am so looking forward to reading more by him, especially TFIOS! Sounds so good!
The Tragedy Paper sounds awesome, I'm really looking forward to reading it! Thank you :)
