First Class Post (26)

first class post
First Class Post - because this post is first class!

First Class Post

I thought I wouldn't have a First Class Post post to share with you this week, but then this little lot arrived yesterday!

For review:

Struck by Lightning: The Carlson Philips Journal by Chris Colfer - Goodreads / Amazon
Unsolicited review copy. This is the book of the film, both of which were written by Chris Colfer. I'm actually intrigued to read this! And the press release said it deals with coming out, so I think this may be another for my GLBTQ YA Month. This is 2012 YA debut novel (Land of Stories isn't considered YA).

The Infernal Devices: Clockwork Angel Manga by Cassandra Clare and HyeKyung Baek - Goodreads / Amazon
Unsolicited review copy. I have yet to read the novels in this series yet, but flicking through this, I have decided I won't be reading it. Manga's not my kind of art, I don't like it. However, my cousin will only read graphic novels, so I'll pass this along to him. Maybe if he enjoys it, I'll be able to persuade him to read the actual novel!

Hidden by P.C. and Kristin Cast - Goodreads / Amazon
Unsolicited review copy. I have only read the first book in this series. I didn't like it, and haven't continued reading, so I won't be reading this either.

Thank you to Atom for the review copies!

    1. Oh no, I couldn't stand the first book. Maybe I'll try picking up book two at some point, but meh. We'll see. Hope it was Hidden, and you enjoy it! :)

    1. Struck by Lightning looks really good! But nah, the Manga isn't for me. Not my cup of tea.

  3. Ahh, for me the manga looks awesome! If it wasn't for the fact that I avoid mangas like produce fat then I would totes read this one. It's just that if I encourage another addiction I will be destitute.

And BAH! HOUSE OF NIGHT *hisses* I stopped reading after book eight, I believe, because there was just no going back after a horrendous development. Which is unfortunate, because I have nearly every book that released before that. But, I made a vow. And I shan't break it. For anything. Even gorgeous cover reveals in the series.

    1. Haha! I can completely understand you steering clear :) But manga just isn't for me. Really not my bag.

Oh, the first book in the HON series really bugged me. I can't remember why exactly now, it was a while a go, but I do remember the dislike. I'd have to re-read my review to find out why. Again, not my bag. :)

  4. It's funny sometimes when you get a lot of unsolicited review copies. I'm interested to see what the manga book looks like!

    1. It is. Some gems, some not so great. The manga is black and white, and looks a lot like manga cartoons on tv.
