In My Mailbox (12)

In My Mailbox is hosted by Kristi of The Story Siren. Check out her awesome YA reviews.

Not many, but I'm happy!

Beastly by Alex FlinnBeastly by Alex Flinn
A beast. Not quite wolf or bear, gorilla or dog but a horrible new creature who walks upright—a creature with fangs and claws and hair springing from every pore. I am a monster.
You think I'm talking fairy tales? No way. The place is New York City. The time is now. It's no deformity, no disease. And I'll stay this way forever—ruined—unless I can break the spell.
Yes, the spell, the one the witch in my English class cast on me. Why did she turn me into a beast who hides by day and prowls by night? I'll tell you. I'll tell you how I used to be Kyle Kingsbury, the guy you wished you were, with money, perfect looks, and the perfect life. And then, I'll tell you how I became perfectly . . . beastly.

  2. Thank you! I LOVED Fallen, so I'm glad to have a finished copy! I can't wait to read Beastly - I read the first few pagoes while waiting to go to the Oxfam Xmas meal, it's quite funny!

  4. I've heard that Beastly is getting made into a movie! I'm a person who reads a book before watching the movie.

  5. Lauren - Cheers! Can't believe people are seeing this book out on sale already in the UK. You're the second person to say so. It's not supposed to be out until the 17th. Lucky people who are getting their hands on it early! But yes, I'm glad to have a finished version; even if I don't think it makes sense (that dress is all wrong), I LOVE the cover! So, so pretty!

Kirthi - Yeah, I've seen videos about. I'm generally not too fussed; if I've see a movie advertised that I know is a book adaptation, I'm probably more likely to watch the movie before reading the book, just because I've heard about it closer to when it'll be on the big screen and don't have much time to read the book. But if I've read a book first then find out it's going to be a movie, that's cool too! :)

  9. Beastly sounds pretty great and what lovely dark covers both those books have, scrumptiously gothic.
