On Tuesday 24th March, there was a Penguin blogger brunch being held at Foyles. I didn't go because of another event I was going to - see below, but I wasn't at work that day either. David Levithan, who was attending the event, had a look around the YA section, saw my Staff Picks for several of his novels, and asked to speak to me! As I wasn't there, he left me a note!
Ok, he wrote Joanna isntead of Joanne, but I'm still so happy! :D
On Wednesday 25th March, I went to the Penguin event at Waterstones Piccadilly as saw David Levithan, Jennifer Niven & Sally Green! Brilliant event! David Levithan is such a fantastic performer - he actually sang one of Tiny Cooper's songs from Hold Me Closer with his editor! I went to the event with my colleague Chloe, and she told David I was the Joanne he left a note for, and he was all, "You are my favourite person in the universe!" Ahem! He signed about nine of my books! Lots of books were singed! :D Jennifer Niven was amazing, and I got all fangirly and emotional when speaking to her, and she seemed to get quite emotional hersel a few times throughout the event. But she is amazing and I love her! Not only did she sign my book, but she also asked me to sign her own copy - getting fans to write messages in her book - and requested a photo with me from her own phone, too! SO COOL!
My smile isn't reaching my eyes in any of those photos, I know. I'm sorry, I was a bit nervous and awe-struck, and it made posing for photos difficult.
Finally, you all need to go and see Cinderlla! That movie is amazing! So cute! With such a great message! And I loooove the cast! Just brilliant!
Firstly, you got so many books! Wow. And it is SO COOL about David Levithan! Really nice that he appreciated your recs enough to give you a note, and then to write that in your book! Was a truly amazing event, and his reenactment of that scene had me in stitches :-)
ReplyDeleteI know, SO MANY books! It's a bit mad. But so looking forward to reading them!
DeleteOh, I love that David Levithan wrote me a note, that's just amazing! Love him! And what he wrote in my book, just incredible! :D David Levithan when reading/perfoming is just the best! :)
